Welcome to Digg & Co. Studio

An ecological design practice focusing on projects which positively contribute to the natural world. We are taught and inspired by the beautiful functionality of natural landscapes and the people within them. We work to design landscapes rich in biodiversity, culture and wonder.

We blend landscape architecture, ecology, architecture, and design to create new ideas for our landscapes. Our studies and research are formed from natural sciences and our methods are led by continually studying form, geology, cultures and natural process. From the structure of wild plant communities, to the hydrology of river catchments, these natural inspirations and ecological teachings underpin how we perceive and design our projects.

Since 2020, our focus has been designing landscape scale projects, where our clients are looking to re-frame relationships with the landscapes they steward, in preparation for a future without subsidies. We employ regenerative techniques to restore soil, water, and air quality as well as biodiversity and natural abundance.

These projects, from initial landscape design and planning, then move to a phase of business planning and modelling and finally to habitat management and creation changes. This ensures that whatever future direction the land takes, it is sustainable and proven to deliver lasting financial resilience through diversified incomes such as biodiversity net-gain, carbon credit sales and any bespoke arrangements.

Looking wider, our goal as a design studio is to positively contribute to an ecosystem and create tangible net-gains on every level of nature. We work with the understanding that the richer our environment, the healthier and happier we are. This fusion of art and science allows us to make changes over many scales, with the focus being on long term ecological enhancement and resilience for generations to come. Each day, through the collaborations and relationships we make, from soil scientists, writers, artists, architects, sages, clients and many many more, we hope to return fading landscapes to health. Be it a garden, a farm, a street or a national park, we look to ask the question:

What does a new natural future look like?

We design this way to once again see the sky alive with birds, the land full of wild animals, and the spirit of people rekindled to live a shared life with all the species that call this planet home.
