Wild Ken Hill

Heacham Bottom Farm, now the site of the Wild Ken Hill project, is a forward-thinking landscape restoration initiative within the wider Ken Hill Estate.

The vision was to include the principles of rewilding, traditional conservation, and regenerative agriculture in order to showcase the surrounding estate. The landscape design integrates these approaches, offering a range of experiences for visitors. A new restaurant and cafe replaced the grain store, respecting the agricultural heritage and paths were designed across the site to wind through native plantings.

The project aims are to uplift biodiversity and create a managed yet wild landscape that provides a glimpse into the wider landscape’s natural systems. It is designed to showcase how food production, wildlife and visitor enjoyment can coexist harmoniously.
